What are your hours of operation?

Our clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm; Saturday 9am – 1pm; Sundays we are closed. A veterinarian is available on-call for any after hours emergencies.

What do I do in the case of an emergency and your clinic isn’t open?

A veterinarian is available after hours for emergency. Call our regular phone number of 524-8287 and your call will be forwarded to our cell phone, which a veterinarian has on hand at all times. Leave a voice message on the answering service, and don’t forget to leave your phone number as well as your name. A veterinarian will call you back as soon as they receive the voice mail. This is usually immediately, but for various reasons can take up to 20 minutes or so.

How do I get my password?

If you are a client of our clinic, you can obtain a password by calling our clinic at 524-8287 or by e-mailing us at info@mypetsvet.ca. Our staff will confirm your association with us as a client and provide you with a password.

Do I have to make an appointment?

We recommend that you phone and make an appointment to have your pet seen. This makes our schedule run smoothly and prevents a long wait. You may be able to wait patiently, but often animals become more stressed the longer they wait in a strange place.

If you cannot come in during our regular appointment times, possibly due to work hours or other commitments, we will offer to have you drop off your pet when the office is open. We will ask for a phone number where we can contact you as well as some of the history of the pet’s medical condition. We will examine your pet when there is an opening, and call you with what we have found and further discuss any diagnostic services needed or treatments.

If you have an emergency during regular office hours and "drop in" without an appointment, we will see your pet as soon as we can, dependant on your pet’s condition.

How can payment be made?

We expect payment as services are rendered. We accept cash, personal cheques, Interac, MasterCard and Visa. If the fee is unexpected due to illness or accident, and is much larger than you can cover, we can send an application to a credit company and make arrangements for a payment plan for you.

Do I have a choice of veterinarians?

We understand that people and pets often prefer one person over another. If you wish to have a specific veterinarian, please let the receptionist know at the time you make your appointment. We will try to accommodate your wishes. However, if that veterinarian is not available on the day you wish him or her, you will be booked with the veterinarian that is available. We may ask you to use a specific veterinarian based on your pet’s problem and that veterinarian’s fields of interest. This applies especially with surgery and dentistry, which Dr. David Heubner performs most of the time.
